Evolution of the Hipster

Here’s a fun link that shows us the evolution of the hipster during the first decade of this millennium.

I am happy to say that I have never fit into any of these categories. But that “Three Moon Wolf” shirt is pretty sweet…

Blast from the Past: Mortal Kombat (kinda)

There was always something amiss about Shang Tsung’s bracketing skills.

2014 Olympic logo

Brand New had a article about the newly unveiled logo for the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

I gotta say, I think its pretty cool. I love the type. Reminds me of an old propoganda poster. Also, the use of the URL-like .ru is pretty cool too.

The “ice crystals” that will adorn the clothing and graphics is nice as well.

Well done all around!

A trip down movie memory lane…

For Empire’s 20th birthday, the magazine is featuring some actor’s reenacting some of their most famous scenes and roles.

Very cool stuff. My favs are after the cut.

Another fine example of beer packaging…

Why am I so fascinated by alcohol packaging design? You don’t have to answer that…

Here’s the awesome packaging for Howling Monkey, designed by Turner Duckworth.

The illustration puts it over the top.

How much does it cost to overnight a Mac Pro tower?

Well, since you asked dear reader, I will let you know, since I learned earlier today.

So I was upgrading the Snow Leopard and midway through the install my computer told me the it had failed, prompting me to restart the machine.

Upon restarting, my machine wouldn’t advance past the grey welcome screen. After 6 hours of dealing with my IT department we thought it best to ship the tower in to them (I work from home).

Well, long story short, the cost to overnight the tower came to a whopping $273. I can’t get my reimbursement request soon enough!

P.S. Too bad I didn’t get a chance to take it to the Genius Bar. I would love to hear what a “Genius” had to say about it.

Font of the Week: NeubauLaden

Very cool and unique font from the Font Shop.

Snake Ties

While I was doing some Christmas shopping this weekend I ran across these amazing sculptures by Tim Shockley. Part of his “Loose Ties” series, TIm has created some really deadly looking business ware.

Kinda makes me think of Wall Street traders…
