CNN redesign

October 26, 2009 § Leave a comment

As you may have already noticed, unveiled a new design this weekend. The bright red banner came as a bit of a shock when I navigated there on Saturday afternoon.

Aside from the bright red banner, the centered CNN logo stood out like a sore thumb. Also, while I see the reason why CNN integrated the video player front and center, I feel like this move has completely destroyed the hierarchy of design that the site once had.

The move does have a couple of nice benefits. The user can access local news and weather right from the main page. Also, the new “News Pulse” is a nice (and sometimes amusing) way to peer into what the American public is interested in.

What do you think? Like it? Hate it? Or just want some John and Kate Plus 8 news?
