Dunkin’ brand gets fooled

In what has become an annual tradition, Brand New unveiled their April Fool’s re-brand of Dunkin’ Donuts (Created by Matt Stevens).

I gotta say, its pretty damn good. From the new, iconic character to the amazingly fun packaging, this is one April Fool’s joke I wish was real.

New Caribou logo

So Caribou Coffee has unveiled a new logo this week. I gotta tell you, the new icon isn’t doing it for me. It just doesn’t come together for me.

The wordmark, however, is quite fantastic. I love the hand-drawn tyography.

MTV drops the music

Finally, MTV has more or less admitted that they aren’t about music any longer through the unveiling of their new logo.

Designed in-house, the new logo chops the legs out from under the “M” and removes music entirely, giving the mark a rectangular, somewhat corporate feel. Quite different from the original chameleon logo.

One neat bit about this new logo is how the network plans on utlizing the new mark when showcasing the network’s stars (seen above).

Renu re-brand

Renu recently got a face lift and I must say this particular re-brand is very close to my heart since it is a product I use everyday.

While I was not at first sold by the redesign done by Pentagram NY, I was very quickly swayed when I saw the above picture of the new packaging vs their competitors on the store shelf. The new packaging pops off the shelf when compared to its blue dominant counterparts and the new logo is immediately recognizeable.
